Welcome to my website

Linux, infrastructure, self-hosting and personal notes from many years of practical IT work.

I write about topics that have been with me for decades: Linux, networks, servers, self-hosting and system architecture. You will also find practical experience, technical solutions and occasional personal thoughts beyond purely technical details.

Privacy and Transparency

This website intentionally does not use tracking cookies, advertising networks, or third-party tracking and marketing scripts.

For technical analysis and continuous improvement of the website, I exclusively use a locally hosted, privacy-friendly Matomo installation without cookies. No personal user profiles are created and no data is shared with external advertising or tracking platforms.

The collected information is only used to understand:

  • which articles are being read
  • which topics visitors are interested in
  • how the website can be technically improved
  • which content remains useful over time

Browsers with enabled "Do Not Track" (DNT) are respected.

Fast loading times, minimal external dependencies, open standards and respectful handling of visitor data are part of the core philosophy behind this website.

That is why the pages are intentionally built to remain lightweight - without advertising technology, unnecessary scripts or the tracking-heavy ecosystem commonly found on modern websites.

Why this site?

This website is my personal place on the web. I collect knowledge, experience and thoughts from many years of IT work here: quiet, technical and without unnecessary noise.

Technology has been with me since Atari, the C64 and the first PCs. This site is my place to pass some of that on, not as a glossy project, but from real practice and personal interest.
